Laser Lip Rejuvenation:
Laser treatments stimulate the growth of new collagen and remove layers
of dead, old skin. This is effective for treating fine lines but not
for plumping the lips. Laser Lip Rejuvenation takes a couple of days to
recover from, but usually only one treatment is necessary.
- Fillers: These treatments have few side effects and generally no downtime, although the effects wear off with time.
Fat Transfer: Fat is harvested from other areas and injected into the lips.
Restylane®: Restylane® is a natural cosmetic dermal filler. It is made of hyaluronic acid, a compound which already exists in the body. Restylane has less chance of allergic reactions than animal-based treatments.
Fascian™: Fascian™ is a
treated form of the natural human tissue known as fascia. This collagen
tissue is firm, yet pliable, and is found many places in the body. It
has a natural feel and has little risk of side effects.
Dermalogen®: Dermalogen® is a
natural human collagen that works well on patients who react to bovine
collagen, and it can last longer than other injectables.
Hylaform®: This is a purified form of hyaluronic acid which mimics the effects of the hyaluronic acid occurring naturally in the body.
Autologen®: Fat is harvested from
the patient's own skin and treated to form a liquid. This requires
multiple injections due to the absorption rate.
Artecoll®: Made of tiny synthetic beads, this injectable lasts longer than other treatments. A skin test is required before treatment.
- Implants:
AlloDerm®: This
human collagen is grafted into the lips. It contains regenerative cells
that are absorbed into your tissue, and it lasts from six months to a
year. Alloderm® provokes no allergic reactions.
SoftForm®: This synthetic
implant is designed to promote growth of the tissues into the implant,
providing stability. The implant is permanent but may be removed if
necessary.
